Adsense earnings update on my Hubs

My Google Adsense click-through-rate
I logged in to my Google Adsense account this morning and
saw I earned $ 3.37 from three clicks. My click through rates have been higher than most direct mail response rates which has been nice.
This is the first period of time my CTR has been moving above the couple of percent mark. It's often been lower.
I’ve been on Hubpages for almost two-and-a-half years. There were periods of up to six months when I did little writing. But during 2010, I’ve written eight to 15 Hubs per month for most months. I’ve not yet written thirty Hubs in thirty days, although that’s still my desire. I’ve got to set it as a goal and attain it!
My passive income from writing
My earnings are picking up at a slow but steady rate. There are plenty of Hubbers who have earned more money than me and at a much faster rate. Read about them and learn from them.
But, yes, I will say that during October, November, and the first week of December I truly did earn “passive income” from my Hubs. I only wrote three Hubs in early October and yet my per month earnings reached their highest level yet. In late November during four days in a row, for the first time, I had earnings of $ 4.51, $ 2.91, $2.54, and $ 3.32. And that was with zero writing and zero promotion for the previous several weeks.
A lesson I’ve learned writing here at Hubpages is clear and it is a marketing lesson which can apply to most businesses: your activity won’t bring in money today, but it will likely bring in money three months to six months down the road.
When you write on Hubpages, do so with a long-term view in mind. Writing thirty Hubs in thirty days, and then promoting them with proper and appropriate links around the Internet, can bring in nice Adsense earnings … but not right away.
For almost two years, my highest earning Hub was about Cheap Gas and Top Tier Gas. It was my only Hub generating up to $ 1.50 or $ 2.00 per day. But now, I will earn fifty cents to over $ 1.50 per click from several different Hubs.
One that has started generating regular amounts of traffic and earnings is my Hub on Sensual massage lotions.
Both Hubs include an important lesson: it took more than six months for me to start earning on a regular basis from them. I did little to no promotion on them from outside Hubpages so that is one reason. But again, write quality content yet don’t be surprised if takes a few months or more to begin earning. Once it starts earning, it may rank consistently high for a couple of years.
Boosting Adsense earnings
My goal for the rest of this month is to write several product Hubs focused on home improvement and perhaps gardening tips for early spring.
My “passive income” won’t last forever. And I want to give a boost to my earnings and start bringing in over $ 100 per month from my Hubs.
I’m going to keep writing product Hubs and how-to Hubs with the goal of reaching 200 Hubs in the next few weeks. I expect my income to take a large jump then.
There is no secret. Write useful Hubs – writing at least five Hubs and up to 10 Hubs on the same subject and then link them together. Do keyword research before writing. Promote them in appropriate places on the Internet. Comment on the Hubs of others and then repeat the process.
While you can’t control your earnings from Adsense, you can control how well you write the content and how much content you write. That’s the key to earning money when writing online and building earnings from Adsense.

I totally agree with u. An I love how hubbers give backgood advice. I'm bookmarking this.
Thanks, for the real-life tips, Don. As you point out, the answer to earnings is content, quantity and patience.
I accidentally did one right thing: write on similar subject and link them to each other, just recently, without intentionally planning it, eventually figured it would be a good thing, and thanks for the confirmation :). btw, yesterday I earned $5.30 from just one click off of one of my new hubs, huray!
Keep up the good work and never disclose your CTR as it is against the google terms of service.
Brilliant advice; You have answered a lot of questions for me. I am very new to this game, but really want to take it seriously and earn money via the internet. I realise it is not a "get rich quick" scheme. It is like any other business in life. Takes work and knowledge of what to do. I understand about keywords and links etc, but how can we find out if we are a good writer or not? Do you know of any sites where work can be submitted and assessed?
Can I ask how many hubs you write before the Adsense approve you for earning? because currently my account reject due to not enough content.
I'm brand new at this. great tips, and I guess I will have to have patience, BUT is there a tutorial anywhere on hub pages to learn how to link my similar hubs?
Thanks Don. Didn't know there was a learning center. I will check it out.
Thanks for this HUB, it was very informative. I know I'm in this for the long hall, and you gave me a few tips I had not thought of.
very useful information, i'm just getting started on this medium and would love to know the best ways to "promote yourself around the Web," as you say...
