Buying 16 GB Patriot flash drive at low prices

By

Buying a flash drive online

Buying a 16 GB Patriot flash drive recently for a low price was a nice experience while shopping online at Tigerdirect.com. I’m certainly no techno-geek and I haven’t bought many electronics components online or even at a store. I needed to back-up my files, though, and my 2GB San Disk flash drive was running out of storage space so I checked flash drive prices online. I settled on the Patriot XT flash drive and so far I’ve been happy with my purchase. Writers who produce content regularly need a back-up plan for their files.

Features of the Patriot flash drive

The Patriot XPorter XT Boost is a 16GB USB flash drive with a 200x read speed. I just used it to transfer an entire writing folder containing all my fiction (a novel, novella, and shorter stories) along with my business writing.  I transferred 507 MB in what seemed to be about thirty seconds from my hard drive to the flash drive when I took my MacBook Pro to get a new graphics card installed.

It’s compatible with Windows 7 and has a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer, PDP Systems, Incorporated.

I bought it online from Tigerdirect.com for $ 29.00 at the time and also received cash back in the process. Tigerdirect emailed a survey shortly after my purchase asking for my satisfaction.

It’s considered “one of the fastest USB flash drives in the market.” Retail prices range from $ 29 to $ 55.

A rubberized housing makes it shock proof and water proof. The manufacturer’s site claims they have heard from users who accidentally put the flash drive through the laundry and all the data survived.

More features include: Hi Speed USB 2.0 Compatible (backwards compatible to USB 1.1), Easy plug and play functionality, Speeds up to 200x, Driverless in Windows ME/2K/XP/Vista, Mac OS 9.x, OS X, and Linux with USB storage support , Certified for Microsoft® Vista® Readyboost.

The Patriot X-Porter XT Boost is one of the fastest flash drives on the market. I've been satisfied with the performance to date.

Storage space

I never realized the power of storage space until I considered what 16 GB can hold.

The flash drive can hold 240 minutes of movies downloaded in a normal mode, or 6,100 pictures, or over 272 hours of music for an affordable price. Having a flash drive of this size provides convenience since it’s easier to keep data in one place.

The Patriot flash drive is available from Tigerdirect.com. Shoppers through this portal can earn 2% cash back on the purchase. It’s also possible to go through this portal and purchase for cash back through Buy.com and many other stores.

Amazon also has the flash drive available.

For writers, a flash drive or some other storage device is essential. Laptops work well -- whether a PC or a MacBook -- but problems do occur. Get in the habit of backing up essential data after every use. Choose a device like the Patriot that has plenty of storage space for an affordable price.

This is a really useful hub! I think it is so amazing how affordable flash drives have become. I remember my first flash drive was a 1GB SanDisk which sold for $44...not anymore! Thanks for sharing this!

Yep, storage space is incredibly affordable these days. You're right. 1 and 2 GB drives used to be quite costly.

You're not going to believe this, but your hub's info is exactly what I've been searching for today and I din't knowe anything about the patriot flash drive. Good to know what you discovered and the price is right too. Thanks for the hub.

Glad this was useful. The Patriot flash drive has been useful for me, too. I'm downloading nearly all word documents. But with the storage space, I may be tempted to download a movie, a little music and a few books.
