Shop online for vertical blinds parts

Finding brackets to re-hang vertical blinds took more than three hours of my time: first, a trip to one hardware store led me to Orchard Supply Hardware (OSH).

A clerk at OSH told me to check another hardware store in Pasadena and then that hardware store told me to check a drapery store. My wife stopped by Home Depot and asked if they had brackets for vertical blinds but they said the only place you’ll find parts for vertical blinds is on Blindsparts.com.

I never realized parts for vertical blinds were tough to find.

Finding parts on Blindsparts.com

Blindsparts.com is located in Arizona. Their slogan is “if we can’t fix it then it’s really broken.”

I found “vertical blinds” on the left hand side of the web site and easily clicked to find a listing of brackets. But then I had a question: which section of the vertical blinds is considered the “headrail” to fit the brackets.

Blindsparts.com has phone service, email and live chat to assist customers. I logged on to the chat and received a message saying operators were busy so the chat turned into an email request.

The company has parts for: mini-blinds, wood / 2-inch blinds, shades, draperies and more along with an assortment of installation hardware.

A link makes it possible to search for parts through window coverings classifieds. There is also a picture gallery with detailed drawings of blinds and the parts needed to replace.

This is not an affiliate program so I do not receive anything from this Hub. But I thought the site is useful to recommend for homeowners or apartment landlords needing parts for blinds.

On the company’s web site they write about their history quite simply:

“Some time in the mid 90'sit all started when a consumer like you walked into a Retail Blind Store & asked"Do you have any blind repair parts"?

There are two informational websites free to browse.

The company has developed a complex database-catalog to make ordering parts easy and efficient.

It’s possible to send in a picture or a part to match.

Using vertical blinds

Vertical blinds are useful for large windows and sliding glass doors. We use them across our bedroom window which is 35 inches width and 85 inches length. Vertical blinds can rotate 180 degrees.

For larger window spaces, I believe vertical blinds are more durable than horizontal blinds. Vertical blinds have slats which are relatively easy to clean and replace.

Dust covers hide the headrail and can provide a decorative look.

Vertical blinds may have a maximum width of over 100 inches and a maximum length for slats of about 96 inches.

When shopping for window coverings for either leading brands or discount window coverings what should you choose? Vertical blinds, mini-blinds, or draperies?

Vertical blinds give a home or office a contemporary, modern feel while draperies may have a more elegant or luxurious appearance. In a smaller window area like kitchen windows, mini-blinds are often the best option.

Someone told me recently that vertical blinds are outdated for window coverings but they’re still the best choice for sliding glass doors since the blinds can open from left, right, or center.

Another option is shopping online at stores like Blinds.com where it's possible to get cash back.
